We allow you time to rest and enjoy your first taste of New Zealand before a sunset trip up the Skyline Gondola and buffet dinner at the top with spectacular views of the Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. This splendid city will be your base for the next 3 nights. Welcome to New Zealand! Your spectacular privately guided winter holiday awaits you!
Day 2 – Ski/ Snowboard the Remarkables
This morning you will be transported up to the top of the Remarkables mountain ranges by your driver/guide to hit the slopes for the first time. The Remarkables are a superb place to test out the New Zealand conditions in this world-class ski field and really live up to their namesake. There are also breathtaking views to be admired, both from the slopes and from look out spots on the drive featuring 360-degree views of Queenstown and the lake below and also many sites used in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The Remarkables features a fantastic network of progressive terrain parks with wide, gentle slopes for beginners of all ages and big mountain steeps for the experts in the family. This field also boasts purpose built snow tubing lanes. After a fantastic day skiing we will head back down to Queenstown where there is the opportunity to dine in one of Queenstown’s many fine establishments.
Day 3 – Ski/Snowboard Coronet Peak
Today we have another full day dedicated to hitting the powder. The beautiful Coronet Peak ski area is also nearby and sits above Arrowtown, one of the key towns in the Central Otago Gold Rush. En route to the ski-field we will take you on a visit to the historic Arrowtown Chinese Settlement and wander around the many boutique shops that the village has to offer. Stunning high points and rolling trails offer seasoned skiers and snowboarders an experience to remember while the gentle lower slopes are perfect for beginners. Sitting at 1649m above sea level don’t forget to take in the stunning views of the valley and surrounding snowcapped peak. By the end of today’s ski run you should be really getting the hang of the kiwi ski style – both on and off the slopes! Be transported back to town by your guide and perhaps enjoy the evening with a visit to Queenstown’s iconic Ice Bar or snuggle up in a cosy bistrot in front of the fireplace with a scrumptious meal.
Day 4 – Queenstown to Milford Sound to Te Anau – 420km (5 hours drive)
Be prepared for one of the jewels of the New Zealand landscape with a day off the slopes but certainly one to remember. The spectacular drive from Te Anau – Milford Sound is one of the most spectacular in the world and certainly a highlight on any New Zealand tour. En route be amazed as your guide drives you through spectacular valleys, breath-taking mountains and hopefully spot the cheeky kea (New Zealand’s mountain parrot). Included is a cruise on the awe-inspiring Milford Sound. This fjord is the picture postcard view of New Zealand and seeing Mitre Peak rise out of the water – and maybe even seals and penguins – will surely make today one of the highlights of your trip. On the way back to Te Anau you will get the chance to explore some of New Zealand’s best kept hidden secrets with your guide. Tonight we stay in the picturesque lake side town of Te Anau, situated on New Zealand’s second largest lake.

Today we head back up the Milford Highway to Queenstown. We begin at Lake Te Anau, the South Island’s largest, and then skirt our way around now familiar Lake Wakatipu, one of the most famous backdrops for The Lord of the Rings. We arrive in time to enjoy the powder one last time and you have the chance to perhaps try a twilight run. Surely the perfect occasion for your final ski of the trip!
