Believe the hype! The Nelson/Abel Tasman region is absolutely breath-taking! We’ve teamed up with the beautiful Te Koi Lodge to offer a luxury mini break which includes a great range of local experiences and a chance to relax and unwind, at an exceptional price.
Today you’ll arrive in Nelson (transfers to Nelson not included). Te Koi Lodge is a 30 minute drive from Nelson Centre and 25 minutes from Nelson Airport. Check in at Te Koi Lodge and enjoy a night of relaxation before exploring Abel Tasman National Park tomorrow.
Enjoy a full day (7 hour 15 min) guided group tour with Wilsons (Split Apple Beaches Kayak and Walk) including a 2 hour kayaking trip around the spectacular coastline of the National Park. You may spot some seals, blue penguins and a range of seabirds while paddling! Enjoy a break on the golden sands of a secluded beach before paddling back to Kaiteriteri where you can enjoy lunch (not included) before boarding a 30-45 minute cruise through the protected waters of the Astrolabe Roadstead past idyllic beaches fringed by lush native forest to the golden expanse of Anchorage Bay. Following this, you choose how to spend your time! Swim, sunbathe, take a leisurely stroll along the beach or explore the sunny Manuka groves leading to the idyllic cove of Te Pukatea Bay and return (45 min walking time). For those that would like a longer walk, there’s the option to walk to Te Pukatea via the Pitt Head Loop track, with stunning views across Tasman Bay (1 hr 30 min return). Return to your lodge in the evening.
Today you’ll enjoy a half day small group tour of 3 spectacular Nelson wineries with Vintage Wine Tours. Vintage Wine Tours offers a range of wine tour options around Nelson boutique wineries that have been handpicked as much for their idyllic settings and warm hospitality as the fine quality of their wines. Your tour host Rod Malcolm will share his insights into the region’s high points as well as the different varieties of wine and the nuances that each vineyard and growing season brings. Wine tours are intentionally small – up to 5 people – to ensure each guest can participate in the full cellar door experience. With his well-travelled palate, Rod can also discuss varieties and labels from wine growing regions all over the world. You will have the opportunity enjoy lunch at one of the wineries at an additional cost. Following this you will be returned to Te Koi for a further night of luxury.
This morning you will check out of Te Koi and transfer to your onward travel arrangements.
