Let us show you the best that Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland has to offer in a day! First up, a visit to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial is on the cards, to take in views of Auckland City, the Harbour Bridge and stunning Rangitoto Island.
Pop down to Mission Bay for a stroll along the beach and a coffee, then it’s off to Mount Eden – A large dormant volcanic crater in the middle of the city! Take the short walk to the top of the volcano and soak up the 360-degree views on offer. It’s time for lunch! Browse the restaurants along the Viaduct Harbour for something that suits you, then we’ll take off to the Waitakere Ranges!
Here we will explore Goldie’s Bush and Mokoroa Falls – a beautiful kauri forest and fern-lined track to a breath-taking waterfall. Take a dip underneath the waterfall or simply view from the lookout spot. After this, we will head to Muriwai Beach to see the famous gannet colony on the rugged coastal cliffs that border the Tasman Sea.
Depending on the time of year, we can watch young gannets learning to fly, getting ready to take off on their big O.E to Australia! We will return to Auckland in the evening to enjoy a delicious three-course meal at Peter Gordon’s famous Sugar Club – atop the Skytower.
