If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, Lakestone Lodge is an absolute must-visit destination. Set on the shores of Lake Pukaki and overlooking the stunning Aoraki/Mount Cook, this lodge is a true paradise on earth. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lakestone Lodge and was blown away by the relaxing and wonderful experience it offered.
The room:
Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm hospitality and shown to my beautiful room. The interior design is modern and stylish, yet still manages to feel cosy and inviting. My room was nothing short of spectacular, with large windows offering unobstructed views of Lake Pukaki and Aoraki/Mount Cook.
But the real showstopper was the bathtub with views of Mt Cook. Soaking in warm water while gazing out at the snow-capped peak of New Zealand’s highest mountain was an experience that words can’t fully capture. It was truly extraordinary.
Food:
The culinary offerings at Lakestone Lodge were equally impressive. The 3-course dinner I enjoyed was exceptional, with each dish expertly crafted and bursting with flavour. The chef makes use of locally-sourced ingredients, creating dishes that are not only delicious but also showcase the best of New Zealand’s cuisine.
Activities:
And then there was the helicopter flight. The lodge offers a range of activities, including hiking, fishing, and kayaking, but I opted for the helicopter flight with snow landing in the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The views from above were simply breathtaking, and landing on a pristine snowfield was an unforgettable experience.
My time at Lakestone Lodge was nothing short of magical. The combination of stunning natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional cuisine made for an experience that will stay with me forever.
