Beginnings in Auckland Hailing from the vibrant cities of Chicago and Seattle, Fatima and Imran Husain, accompanied by their partners, Saher and Ahmed, set foot in New Zealand. After soaking in Auckland’s waterfront vibes and shaking off jet lag, they teamed up with their spirited guide, Constance.
Hobbiton: The Heart of Middle Earth Their maiden destination was the iconic Hobbiton. The lush landscapes of the Shire captivated them, and with Imran playfully dubbed ‘Gandalf’ due to his towering stature, the immersion in Tolkien’s world was complete.
Rotorua: Adrenaline and Culture Here, they soared on gondolas, felt the thrill on the luge tracks, and delved deep into the Maori heritage at Te Puia. The ethereal glow of the Redwood Forest’s night lights capped off an enchanting day.
Geothermal Wonders and Sweet Delights Dawn brought the steamy terrains of Waimangu Valley into focus. They then witnessed the power of nature at Aratiatia Rapids and took a sweet detour to Huka Honey for some delightful tastings.
Waitomo: Adventure in the Dark Black Water Rafting stood out as a trip highlight in Waitomo. The excitement was palpable as they prepared to spend the night in an actual Hobbit Hole, while Constance chose the quirky ‘Waitanic’ ship.
Coromandel Peninsula: Nature’s Canvas With stops at Te Aroha’s romantic Mountain of Love, Paeroa’s iconic L&P bottle, and the Martha Gold Mine in Waihi, the scenic splendors of the Coromandel Peninsula unfolded beautifully.
A Bittersweet Farewell Their odyssey drew to a close with a picturesque drive through Coromandel Town and along the Thames Coast, all the way back to Auckland.
Culinary Delights: A Halal Surprise To the Husain family’s delight, New Zealand’s culinary landscape shone with its abundant quality Halal offerings. With memories to cherish, they’re already plotting their next Kiwi adventure.
